I wanted to take a few minutes to post pictures of our weekend at K’s BMT graduation. I am so proud of him for pushing himself to finish and even graduate honors. The 8 ½ weeks of being away from each other was not at all easy for any of us, which made this weekend a very special time for our family. I will warn you that there are a lot of pictures of the 3 ceremonies that he went through, there was a lot of sitting for us, a lot of marching for him, and a few great days to be together and explore San Antonio.
The LONG Drive there…
I am not going to lie – it was a long drive there. Traveling with two cars, 3 adults, 1 teenager, and 2 toddlers is not the easiest thing to do. We broke the trip up into two days which was a good thing because of all the stops, the weather, and the few hours we took to do a little shopping – they ended up being two full days. During the second day of travel, it began raining and we soon found out that my car’s windshield wipers were broken! Yikes! Thankfully our girls were really amazing during the whole trip, sleeping most of the way and very little whining came from them.
Ready to start the trip!
Sleeping away the trip – they both make me smile!
The Airmen’s Run
The airman’s run is a 3 mile run where the graduating airmen run by their loved ones who came to their graduation. Waiting to see Daddy!
Here comes his squadron…
K is right out front
…and there they go…
Then they come back, this time with the Bulldog!
And he catches a glimpse of us!
The Coin Ceremony
There was a lot of waiting on hard benchers but the girls were little champs
I am leaving it up to all of you to find K in the mix of Airmen.
It’s a little hard to see but K is receiving his coin
K’s Training Instructor for the last 8 ½ weeks
Finally together again!
Honor Grad Ceremony
After the coin ceremony we headed over to attend the Honor Grad Ceremony. Only 10% of the whole graduating class is eligible to receive the honor ribbon. K’s graduating class was approximately 700 airmen so the top 70 were presented with this special honor. I am very proud of K for being one of those 10%, I know it was not an easy task! Sadly, the room did not have great lighting for pictures so they came out pretty dark. Graduation
I am not going to post a lot of pictures of the graduation. As you can tell from the photos, Graduation took place on a very large field and it was a little hard to get clear pictures of K while he was out there. We did get a few great pictures from the Airmen’s parade.
These planes did a fly over during the ceremony
Big Sister and Daddy
River Walk
We spent one day out on the river walk. It was beautiful and thankfully the weather was not as hot as last year when we went. We ate lunch at one of the restaurants along the river and had amazing ice cream from the mall. It was so much fun!Daddy entertaining the girls in one of the gift shops along the river
This year the girls were both old enough to really enjoy the day
I defiantly missed having K’s help with the girls during the weeks he was at BMT
Of course we had to stop to get family pictures!
Witte Museum
On the last day of our time in San Antonio, we headed to the Witte Museum. It was a great surprise to see all of the fun activities that they have for both adults and kids. They had a great big dinosaur room with huge dinosaurs that moved and made lots of noise and different activities. They also had a huge tree house full of different activities for kids, and they had a whole floor dedicated to mummies (which K’s little sister loved!).How do your feet measure up to a dinosaur?
Maybe an archeologist in the making?!?
This is by far the coolest way to play dodge ball, even mom and dad had to try!
Big Sister (with a little help) and Daddy trying to pull themselves up with the rope.
Up in the tree house
Daddy and Big Sister enjoying all that the museum had to offer
Mommy and Little Sister enjoyed looking at the pretty flowers
I know this is a long post with a lot of pictures but I do not want to forget what fun we had during this weekend! Hope those of you who actually finished this blog post, enjoyed seeing all of our pictures!

Great Pictures Sam!! Love you soo much! Kim
